Who we are
GovGold is a small, but mighty, team of five FE Governance Professionals, each with many years’ of experience working across the Further Education sector. We’re independent, which means we come in with fresh eyes, open minds, and no hidden agendas. We’ve seen it all, learned a lot along the way, and genuinely love rolling up our sleeves to help colleges thrive. Working together, often in conjunction with other organisations, we bring a mix of perspectives that’s hard to beat.

We’ve helped colleges through some really big changes- including mergers. We advise on all things governance, making sure everything runs smoothly, before, during and after, mergers.

We’re standing by to help you strengthen your governance. Offering the full range from self assessment and improvement plans, to facilitating strategy days so the Board can drive improvement itself.
Crisis Support
When things get rocky, we step in to ensure governance continuity. Whether it’s helping a board regain its footing or smoothing out a crisis, we’re there to steady the ship.

We’ve got a knack for figuring out if the governance structure actually fits the college’s goals, and we’re always up for helping boards weigh up new opportunities.

We're there from start to finish, offering support to design, prepare, and deliver governance role recruitment. Providing practical advice and in-person expertise.
Clerking
We understand the value and power of great clerking - keeping meetings organised, making sure the paperwork’s spot on, and supporting the Board’s effective decision-making from behind the scenes.
